These photos were a long time coming. Gwen and Truman were married last year in June, but we opted to do our portraits in October due to a couple of reasons. 1) it’s too hot in June to do anything, and 2) we were waiting until their sealing ceremony had occurred. Best laid plans, right?
This goes back to my broken foot episode, where I broke my foot on our last day in Italy and hobbled around for 2 weeks prior to having surgery on the same foot (for non-related reasons). I sort of had a meltdown days before the surgery that pretty much paralyzed me with fear. It was totally ridiculous, but happened none the less. We were going to try to get these photos in the days preceding the surgery. Nope, didn’t happen.
The surgery took MUCH longer to heal than the doctors anticipated, so we pushed things back to spring. then we played this game of …I forget, you forget. I can’t play that game long, it makes me feel unsettled, I mean, almost a year had gone by and we didn’t have these photos. so we set a date and stuck to it, and here they are. Gwen is just as beautiful today as she was the day she got married. In fact, I would challenge anyone to find the differences between then and now. WOW!!
